What is a Building Consultant?

 

Today’s building consultants cover a wide area of expertise and are found at all levels of the planning, construction or post construction process. They are able to concentrate on specific problem areas and tasks or consider a project more generally. They can quickly supply extra skills and expertise to a situation.  Therefore the client is able to draw on a pool of qualified expertise whenever he needs to, without the cost of retaining such a resource.

      Consultants are free to get straight into a project in a detached and dispassionate way and can concentrate 100% of their working time on the particular task. They are flexible and adaptable, are skilled in a particular discipline.  They may be brought in for medium or long-term engagements or just to deal with a specific problem, or provide a specialist opinion.
